Roger Rivett has worked in the automotive industry for over 35 years on real-time software for embedded-systems fulfilling a number of different roles including software developer, Project Leader and Software Quality Manager. He is currently a Functional Safety Technical Specialist in Jaguar Land Rover responsible for embedding functional safety processes and practices within the company. He has been an active member of MISRA since its inception and has co-authored a number of its publications. He is currently the chairman of MISRA. He is a member of the ISO working group that has produced the automotive functional safety standard ISO26262. He is a Chartered Engineer, a fellow of the IET. He has an MSc in Software Engineering from Oxford University and is currently studying for an Engineering Doctorate at York University.
